Steampunk time!

Hello!

We've gotten all kinds of weather here lately... -30C, freezing rain, snow, +2C, sun... it's enough to make a body cry! (For those who do not know, I have Fibromyalgia and changes in weather DO make our body ache)  So I've not been too creative, but intend to start up again... Just Because!

This is a card I made for a friend of mine before Christmas.  Rhea is an amazing person with a dream come true basement FULL of scrapbooking and stamping product.  If you get a chance check out her place: http://www.scrapbooking.ca/

I really enjoy the look of Steampunk and combined a few different companies' product to make this card.  I had just received the paper and some of the stamps/dies from Heartfelt Creations and was dying to use them (sorry for the pun!)  The steam butterfly is by Cherry Lynn, used on old Micheals shimmer cardstock.  I also used a large Gear Assembly die from Memory Box to cut out a vellum layer between the butterfly and the background.

And voila!

And I am trying to get used to decorating the inside of cards now too!
See you next week!

Valentine Tag

Hello!

I joined a local scrapbook store tag swap in January.  As mentioned before, I do like a challenge.  Scrap N Bean set up a monthly challenge using the Prima tags.  The theme for January was Valentine.

I started with the basic vintage tag.  I used part of the Magenta TCW77 stencil and sprayed Lindy's Gang Hibiscus Rose for the heart and swirl pattern.  Then I used Stencil Girls' L169 Kalbach stencil and the Tattered Rose Distress Crackle Paint for the distress texture.

Then I started stamping elements and cutting them out:
- a quote from the Stamper's Anonymous Stuff to Say CMS110 stamped on vellum
- Magenta Heart C43006J and an unknown key stamp stamped on CM paper and cut out.
Then added all these elements plus a Magenta cork heart sticker and a Valentine ticket I received in a swap.  Eyelets and staples to tie it all together.

And voila!

St. Patrick's Day and International Quilting Day!

Woohoo! Time for some green Quilts! LOL! Not often that these two days land on the same weekend. I finally finished one of my UFOs (unfinis...
