Stencils and Masks PAGE

Hello!

I always have fun with stencils so I decided to try my hand at another page for my Multi Media Journal.  This is another reminder for the challenge at Quirky Crafts Challenges.  One more week to join in on the fun with the possibilites of winning some images!

I started with a page I had created with stencils and my Gelli plate earlier.  I used The Crafters Workshop stencil TCW171S and some Portfolio pastels to outline the centre tree image.  I found the image needed outlining with a permanent metallic pen too. The main image is the same Clover image I used on Friday by Paper Pretties also coloured in with watercolour crayons and a water pen.

I cut around the top of the circle and tucked in another sheet of paper that was created when I sprayed other projects with the Tattered Angels spray mists.  (No I do not just throw away all background papers!  Sometimes they are pretty too!)

I started with a couple of stencils and inks, (green and leaves, then black with mini dots) but the page was getting rather dark.  So I took out some white embossing paste and died a bit of it with green ink.  Spread through the Stencil Girl L135 leaf stencil I got the lighter look I was after.

Now to finish it off!  A stip of Gelli printed paper in purple, the cut out puppy and a quote from the Dylusions stamp set DYR34520.  This in now in my favourite quotes journal.

Stencils and Masks

Hi All!

SO exited to announce that I am a new member of the Quirky Crafts Challenges Design Team!  Woo Hoo!  My official start date is with the next challenge starting July 5, but they have let me tag along on the current challenge too.  I LOVE working with this team.  We get to play with some pretty and original digi images and we are restricted only by the theme and our imaginations!  Any project goes as long as it follows the theme!  If you'd like to play along for a 2 month stint as a guest designer like I did, check it out and let Cazzy know!

This week it's reminder time for the current challenge of "It's a Quirky Stencil and/or Mask Challenge"  We were given some images from Paper Pretties to play with and I chose Clover.  Such a cute puppy!  I also decided to try using this week's Mojo Mondays sketch.
The image was printed to 2x3" and coloured in with watercolour crayons and a water brush.  I accented the main clover with two metallic pens then I matted him onto gold mesh paper.  The card base is my usual 5x6.5" with a 4.75x6" piece of magenta Sizzix cardstock, then 4.25x5.5" piece of gold mesh paper.  The designed paper is a piece of paper I created on my Gelli plate with stencils and acylic paint.  Green shimmer paper from Dies Cuts With a View and piece of gold ribbon from my stash finish off the design.

And there you go!  Another card completed for my Sheltie group here in Edmonton!  Hugs!

Merci

Well it is the first day of summer and I am finally starting my spring cleaning in my hobby areas!  I am trying to get ready for the annual Where Bloggers Create and trying to FIND some of my things in the scrap room!

This week was my last for delivering lunches to school kids this school year.  In one of my schools, I have student helpers in the shape of Grade 5.  These kids are being taught leadership skills and as part of their lunch time supervision of younger grades, on Lunch Lady day (my delivery day) they also pick up and deliver the lunches to those classrooms.
As a thank you, I ty to give tham a little token at Christmas and the end of the year.  I baked up some Pilsbury Chocolate Chip cookies and packaged them up in ziplock bags for their year end gift.  My employer also threw in some bendy pencils you can see peeking out from the bag topper I made.

I used Tim Holtz and another stencil to create a layered punky look to the toppers.  6x3" white cardstock was the base.  First layer was hexagons in yellow, second was stripes in pink and the top layer was a gear stencil in blue.  I played around with the order and so had two test ones that I turned into the Thank You card for the teacher involved.  The letters are an older Stampin' Up set I have and that's it!  Fold over the edge of the bag and staple to secure.

Merci to the Grade 5 class at Holy Cross School in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada!  They are a bilingual elementary and junior high IB school.

Tangle time!

Hello!
I was introduced to Zentangle, 3 years ago by a fellow stamper.  At the time, I said 'Cute, but what can I do with it?'  Well give me time to open my mind and now I LOVE this version of purposeful doodling that relaxes me and adds a personal touch to many things!

At work lately, the moms were commenting how the kids were required to each purchase a practice ball.  There are only so many colours and styles out there of #3 and #4 balls apparently. So I offered to tangle them.  They kinda looked at me funny, but said sure.  Here are the results that only took about 45 minutes each to do.

Fun right???!!  Check out the Zentangle site for info!

Time Reminder

Hello!

It's 'time' for a reminder post for Quirky Craft's current challenge.  'It's About Quirky Time' is the challenge, therefore pick out something time related and have fun!  We are being sponsored by the Cutting CafĂ© this time and were provided with some fun files.
For this project I continue with my alphabet tag project and used some scraps, and a nice quote that was included in our kit.
I started with a Prima tag from one of their tag pads and then used a Tim Holtz stencil and black Embossing Paste to add a dimensional layer.  Different metal pieces, charms, and a scrap from last week's project then the quote was die cut and distressed before adhering to the tag.

Trim all around the edge and mat onto black card and voila!  A Time Tag!

I like to use up as much of my scraps as possible when making cards.  I mean, the colour coordinating is done, put them together in a different way and we have another card in a fraction of the time!

The card base for this is an old one from Magenta.  Precut windows out of different earth coloured cards.  This one is black.  I added the 'time' word collage background behind the window.  One of the quotes was ripped out and sprayed with my colour spray, then adhered to the front.

The inside is covered with ripped white paper for ease of writing a legible message.  In the seam is a scrap of the sprayed clocks background and overlapping that is the second half of the quote.  "There's no time like the present to tell you... how much I love you"

Hugs!
