Your 3 Favourite Embellishments

Hi Ho!
This week the challenge at My Heart Pieces is "Use your 3 Favourite Embellishments".  This was a bit of a challenge for me as I have several favourite embellishments!  My 'go to' embellishments are what I used for this one though.
Started with the image 'Baby Bee' and coloured it with watercolour crayons and a water pen.  Accented the wings with Stickles (1) and matted it on printed paper by Basic Gray.  I used the Spellbinders Labels 22 to cut the layers out. The card base is a kraft 5x 6.5" card on which I placed 4x6 pieces of paper from Basic Gray and Me & My Big Ideas. (old stuff from my stash)  used red polka dotted tape from Queen & Co. and some strawberry ribbon from Michaels. (2&3)  Adhered the matted image then added buttons (4).  Oops!  Used 4 here!

My next card (yes, there is a second one!)  I used the same image coloured the same way.
This is horizontal 5.5 x 4.25" red duplex card was wrapped in a different strawberry ribbon from Michaels (1).  I cut out the image with Spellbinders Labels 23, then matted it twice with green paper, then black pleather piece (2).  Adhered this to the front of the card and added the red & white polka tape from Queen & Co (3).

Have a good day!

Digi Darla Masculine Challenge

A masculine card?  Yep! That's a challenge!  I always have issues with cards for men, so I thought I'd try this one.  I used the golf bag and Dad quote, both from Digi Darla.  The card is an old window card from Magenta.  I also used the small golf ball from a sport set by River City Rubber Works to stamp around the frame.  I stamped the ball with versamark, then used white Mica powder to bring them out a bit.  I coloured the golf bag image with my watercolour crayons and water pen.
Since both Jim and I no longer have our dads with us, this card will be forwarded to 'From Our Hearts' Cards For The Troops to make another dad happy to hear from their child.  Hugs!

More cards published!

I've started off the new year being honored with having more of my cards published.  I have updated the 'Cards Published' page accordingly.  Check out these publications for inspiration and techniques!  I love them to pieces...

And so you have another piece of eye candy to look at, here is a recent card:
I coloured in the digi image 'flowers' from My Heart Pieces with watercolour crayons, then cut it out, along with the matte, using my Spellbinder Nesting Dies.  Used older Stampin' Up paper as the base and ran self adhesive ribbon along the bottem.  Adhered the matted image and them added a kanji sticker from Magenta to the right.

My Heart is For You

Hello!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Mine's starting off pretty good!

This week the challenge Priyanka has set us is a card that must have a heart on it somewhere.  I had NO issue with that! :)  The image I chose for this challenge was "Flowers".  Nice and easy to colour using my watercolour crayons and waterbrush.  Now to use them in unique ways....

The first card is my card to my husband.  He got this with his lunch today :)  There is a step circle card tutorial floating around that I had to try and this is the result.  Very cute!  The clips are flower shaped ones I ordered from Japan a while back...

My second card is a flip anniversary card.  I used a spellbinders die to cut out the flip part.

And my last card is a heartfelt thank you card.  The image lent itself to be framed in a heart, so I did!

Now off for more loving fun!
Hugs!

High Tea

Yesterday I was invited to High Tea at my friend's church.  High tea is one of those things everyone should experience at least once in their life!  I have attended 2 now and LOVE it!  Dress up a little, wear a hat and gloves if you have them and have a nice conversation with fellow ladies.  Crustless sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cupcakes and meringue.
What I wanted to show you was the hat I did over for the event.
I started with a hat I found at a Value Village.
I added some black tule that I found somewhere and then sprayed some paper flowers with Tattered Angels spray.  Used an old Pretties kit from Stampin Up! to attach the flowers to the tule and hat.
Then for the finishing touch I added some plastic, bling accented swirls.
And here I am all dolled up for the tea

Oriental Time!

I am a member of a Yahoo group called Oriental Stamp Artists.  We have fun coming up with projects and cards in an oriental style.  This is a card I created for a 1 for 1 mingle.  We needed to use only the colours Black and Yellow.
I had some black and yellow wrapping paper I put on a 5x6.5" card front.  Then I used some yellow adhesive squares, stamped with StazOn in the middle of the black sections.  Covered the whole thing with yellow vellum and stamped the tree and kanji with StazOn black.   Smaller yellow adhesive squares in the corners hides the adhesive used to hold it to the card front.  Various ribbon and fibres down the left side. Finished off with a yellow flower centerd with a black button.

St. Patrick's Day and International Quilting Day!

Woohoo! Time for some green Quilts! LOL! Not often that these two days land on the same weekend. I finally finished one of my UFOs (unfinis...
