Challenges

I have decided to start early on a New Year Resolution.
The basic rule of thumb is you cannot get published if you do not submit.
So in 2011 I will be submitting more layouts and cards.
Each time I do, there will be a link added to the right hand side column to point you to what I have entered.
Just under the wire, I know, but I have completed two layouts and submitted them to a sketch challenge hosted by a local Scrapbook store here in Alberta.  Hope I win!  The winner gets a copy of Becky Fleck's newest book 'Page Maps 2'.   I do like sketches to help get pages done quickly!

Happy New Year to you all!
Hugs!

New Poster

Hello there!
I have to remember to post more often!
I have just completed my first scrapbook class of 4 students!  I've been lucky so far that even if there was not a minimum of 4 classes, I could still run the class. I've met some great ladies this way and have gotten comfortable teaching the material.
As of January 1 though, if I do not have a minimum of 4 students, the class has to be cancelled.
Bummer.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that I will not have to cancel too often!
Here is a picture of the most recent display board in the store.  I made it flexible so that I could change out the layouts as the year progresses and also to keep it looking interesting.

A Successful First Weekend Blitz

Hi Again!
I just completed my first weekend blitz SDU class.  What a ride!  I decided to offer all 4 classes in two days (Saturday and Sunday) for those who do not have the time during the week, or wish to complete it more quickly.  I offer Class 1 on Saturday morning, Class 2 on Saturday afternoon, Class 3 on Sunday morning and Class 4 on Sunday afternoon.  While we were talking and playing, others noticed this and asked about future weekend blitzes.  I love this job!

New Beginner Card Classes!

So this is exciting too!
My super - supervisor Sandy asked to create a four week set of beginner card making classes for the store!
I was so thrilled she asked me to do this!
So all spare energy was used to create, I think, a fairly good beginner series of card classes.
The first set of classes will be on Tuesdays in October, on October 5, 12, 19, 26.
Students will leave with a minimum of 3 cards per class, covering different beginner techniques.
All four weeks for $27.
Woo Hoo!
I'll post the sample cards in the next few days... still working on them!

New Career Path

Hey everyone!

In June I was offered the opportunity to become a certified scrapbook instructor for EK Success in a local Michaels store.  Totally cool!  I completed the training and am just about to complete my first series of classes.  I've been busy creating sample layouts and trying to generate interest in the new classes.  I'll be posting the current classes scheduled for those that are hopefully close enough to come by and register if you are interested in learning the basics of scrapbooking in a hands on way!
Meanwhile, here is the first poster I created in store to create interest and inform about the new classes.
Oh! And my first 'teacher' photo :)

St. Patrick's Day and International Quilting Day!

Woohoo! Time for some green Quilts! LOL! Not often that these two days land on the same weekend. I finally finished one of my UFOs (unfinis...
